Hemingway

What’s in a name

Independent, goal-oriented, innovative with a clear, distinctive style, free from pretension and embellishment. This was the credo when founding our organization, and it remains true to this day. We have been inspired by the life and, above all, the work of Ernest Hemingway – one of the most influential writers of the 20th century, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. His work is characterized by a sober style, short and powerful, focused on the essence, and therefore highly effective. We leave it to you to recognize our way of working in this.

Vision and Ambition

Over the past decade, governance has become highly professionalized due to technological and societal developments, leading to significant changes. The supervisor of today must be keenly aware of the heterogeneous issues that may arise at any moment. They must be able to act decisively with both the necessary distance and involvement. This requires knowledge, (self) insight, and practical experience.

It is Hemingway’s ambition to enrich and improve the functioning of supervisory boards within the demands placed on boards today. Through Hemingway Education, we carefully train supervisory board members and ensure they can remain permanently up-to-date. We believe the right combination of theory and practice is crucial in this regard. Renowned commissioners and lecturers guide you through the daily realities of governance, the associated dilemmas, and various best practices. With Hemingway Evaluation, we offer valuable periodic self-evaluations for the supervisory board or supervisory team and its individual members.
